Rhye Combines Intimacy with Intricacy in New Album, ‘Spirit’
Rhye’s artistically emotive approach to songwriting could just about leave you in tears; melting into a puddle of your own emotions.
Rhye is back with another soothing combination of piano, analog synths and vocals that expresses a liberation of raw musical talent in all areas. The production of atmospheric energy is hauntingly beautiful in a way that, yet again, leaves the respective listener in a reflective state of mind. His signature style promotes the theme of encouraging introspection.
Spirit, an eight-track collection of both instrumental and lyrical pieces. Its composure explores the gentle allureof the piano’s broad spectrum of beauty, and blends this with a wide range of contralto coos. The body of work was released by the Loma Vista label.

“These are songs about love in my life, but also about the love for piano brought back into my life.”
The layer of strings add a soulful element to the end of instrumental “Green Eyes” which leads into the percussion-sprinkled pitter patter beat of “Wicked Games.” The different energies in these two tracks is just an example of the way Spirit presents a dense contrast of content all the while remaining true to the beautifully rooted theme of piano keys.
Originally Rhye was a Canadian duo. Singer Michael Milosh and producer Robin Hannibal gained online attention and swept music charts with the release of “The Fall” and “Open” singles in 2012. Now, Rhye is a solo project by Milosh only.
Milosh’s passion can truly be felt through his striking voice, so listening to his continuous success as an artist is a true pleasure. The high notes he finds himself capable of hitting are as healing as they are heartfelt.
Spirit is Rhye’s third studio album. This signature, minimalist divinity will bridge into eternity as Rhye could never go out of style.
