Had Habstrakt & Megalodon not put out The Storm EP just last week, Wobad’s Game of Wonks EP would be the clear cut #1 contender for dubstep EP of the year. For you individuals that prefer your bass music extra heavy – and with a proper twist of grime – Octane Audio should become a household name almost instantly. Every release this budding label endorses has been nothing short of top-notch. Don’t believe me? Well, maybe these five wobbly Wobad bangers can change your opinion. They are quite persuasive.

Getting things underway with the go-big-or-go-home title song, this staggering production grabs you by the collar and forcefully tosses you through a brick wall. Nice to meet you too Wobad, but do you think you could phone me an ambulance? We’re only one track into this EP and I’m already down for the freaking count. Then, right on cue, “Fucking Rage” casually strolls into the party fashionable late. In case you couldn’t tell, this bass-infused bruiser is kind of a big deal. Crank up that volume as high as it’ll go, because your entire neighborhood needs to hear this one. Doing everything it can to keep pace with the first two subwoofer shredders, “For Real” cleverly showcases this musician’s darker side. Then, without any warning whatsoever, a lethal combination of collabs make an exceptionally compelling case for closing out this EP. Both KPD (“Run ‘Em”) and Kahlil (“Blunders”) deserve a solid round of applause for their generous contributions. Add Wobad to your dubstep watch list, he’s making some serious noise.
