The name 311 immediately brings up nostalgic images of beaches, sunshine, and surfing for me. Perhaps it was because “Amber,” among many other 311 tracks, were played to death while I studied abroad in Austrlia. Or maybe it’s simply because of the completely chilled out melodies and guitar riffs prevalent in the crimson-tinged love song. So what do you get when you a some bass and a little drumstep to the mix? Psymbionic does it surprisingly well, keeping the chilled out qualities of the original while adding just that extra bit of ‘umph’ for all your summer patio parties you have planned.
