“Moon Taxi is one of those rare bands that unites musical ingenuity with thoughtful lyrics and still somehow manages to wildly entertain and thrill a crowd.” Nashville based Moon Taxi is no amateur when it comes to festivals. Having been around the block once or twice – this was their third Hangout Fest – the group knows a thing or two about touring and what it takes to be a successful while still having a great time.

A day before their late afternoon performance, The Sights and Sounds had a chance to sit down and chat with indie jam rockers Moon Taxi while we were covering Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama. With the sun shining and music playing around the open air media area, drummer Tyler Ritter and guitarist Spencer Thomson talked about Jaegermeister stages, poops on tour, sharks and Bonnaroo brown acid.
