After all the times you said “Don’t Go”, how did you end up so far away?

Can we hold on to the good times and what’s left?

Time moves on, marching forward invincible.

We are not as immune – words lose meaning like leaves drifting off trees each season. Don’t believe me? What were your New Year’s Resolutions this year?

The same fate befalls the relationships in our life. Relationships we swore would always be there and so we glanced away – at first. But a fire not maintained goes cold and now what we have left over are just the memories of moments we thought we’d never lose.

Lying in bed, joking.

Brushing hands on the bridge.

Sharing wine under a full moon.

Now I’m just trying to hold on to whatever’s left.

We swore that would never be us. Now I’m not so sure.
