There’s nothing better than discovering new music – and there’s nothing more mind-boggling than finding out that the face behind those captivating productions is a 15-year old whippersnapper. However, that’s exactly the case when it comes to Xanwow. Exhibiting a sound that closely resembles that of Seven Lions, this boy genius is just one of many talented names fueling a melodic dubstep youth movement. You’ve surely heard of the Adventure Club’s and Mt. Eden’s of the world, but now it’s time for artists like Grabbitz, Illenium, Venemy, and a whole host of others to join the conversation.

Relying on his heavy trance background (at least according to my ‘extensive’ SoundCloud research), “Utopia” is a song that allows the listener to experience some incredibly dramatic ups and downs. The builds are downright brilliant and each drop contains so much raw emotion that I want to laugh, cry, and scream with pure happiness all at the same time. Which way is up or down? I truly don’t know anymore. And truth be told, I don’t care. As long as Xanwow plans to keep my ears busy with ‘little’ bundles of bass joy, we’re all good around here.
