I’ll be the first to admit that when it comes to listening to new music, I tend to shy away from hip hop. It’s not that I don’t care for it, it’s just that there is so much other music I listen to that I don’t get around to it. But every once in a while I’ll hear something that just makes me smile, jump up and start moving around. And so it goes with Chill Bump‘s soulful hip hop remix of C2C‘s “Happy,” produced for C2C’s remix competition. Hailing from France, Chill Bump throws down some smooth lyricism over throwback keys and bass that flow into a chopped and screwed chorus that I find extremely tasty.

“Happy” comes off C2C’s album Tetra and boasts some serious dance quality visuals that I wish I could pull off. I have the video on repeat so I can practice. Check out Chill Bump’s remix of “Happy” below and the official music video for the original after the jump.
