There aren’t many artists hotter than  at the moment, going from zero to sixty in what seems like one summer. Their much anticipated album Days Are Gone was released today with some classics we have been jamming to lately at the Sights and Sounds and some unheard tracks fresh out of the recording studio. The trio of sisters are taking the nation by storm with their likeable, sing-along, pop sounds most compare to Shania Twain and Fleetwood Mac, but in my opinion I’d rather stray away from likening their sound to older generic country singers. Sure Haim has a bit of twangy flair, but they are just as much a delectable pop group that are easily connectable, too.

To emphasize how quickly they are on the rise, in the past year they have toured with the likes of The XX, Phoenix, Florence the Machine, Vampire Weekend and Mumford and Sons. Hot damn, talk about a wide variety of tunes. Thats the beauty of Haim, the diversity of their sound and the fans they collect from all genre lovers. Did I mention this was all before even releasing a studio album?! Yes, seriously. With a few EP’s and singles released via the internet, their shit just blew up leading to today’s full length album release.

Songs you already have heard and love off the record: “Falling,” “Forever,” “The Wire,” “Don’t Save Me” and “Go Slow”. All of course top tracks on Spotify. Some new unreleased tracks worth listening too: “If I Could Change Your Mind,” “Honey and I” (besides a Spotify Session), “My Song5,” “Let Me Go” and “Running If You Call My Name.” The album is an easy listen from beginning to end and reminds me of a sweet summer road trip. Guys and gals of all ages will find something to connect to within this album, and find themselves singing along by the end. Pick up your copy available today from itunes and welcome to the Haim lovers club. Listen to the full album here brought to you by NPR or check out their soundcloud feed for some of their classics (full album not on soundcloud yet).
